The project

It all started when I heard a podcast about a developer struggling to figure out why his app wasn’t converting free users into paid ones. His solution? Offering extended free trials for every user who gave feedback.

I shared the idea with a friend who told me, "You should turn this into a business!" That’s when Feeedbackr was born: a tool to help solopreneurs turn feedback into actionable insights.

Why did I do this ?

While researching the market, I discovered that most competitors were offering $100+/month subscriptions packed with features that solopreneurs would rarely use. I wanted something simple, effective, and transparent: collect, analyze, and restitute user feedback. That’s why Feeedbackr uses a credit-based model—no subscriptions, no surprises. You pay only for what you use.

Problems

Messy AI-generated code

I started the project by experimenting with AI coding tools. Big mistake. The result was chaotic, and I realized I either needed to improve my prompting skills or go back to writing clean code myself. Lesson learned: don’t rely too heavily on AI for code.

MVP scope creep

When building a feedback tool, it’s tempting to add fancy features like an embedded widget right from the start. But I had to constantly remind myself to keep it MVP-focused. The goal is to ship something lean and functional, then iterate.

Security concerns

Users can choose between Feeedbackr’s hosted portal or their own custom setup via API. But how do I ensure feedback submitted through the API is legit? The solution: apiKey protection. It’s simple, secure, and keeps the system trustworthy.

Putting myself out there

I want this project to succeed, so for the first time in my solopreneur journey, I’m actively reaching out to users. From cold messages to building a waitlist, I’m stepping outside my comfort zone to make Feeedbackr work. It’s been scary, but worth it.
